Principal and interest calculation - Ganri Keisan

The ratio of the sum of dividends and capital gains on a stock to its market price is called the return on stocks and is sometimes considered the interest rate on stocks.
[Interest calculation]
There are two types of interest calculations: principal and interest calculations, which calculate how much interest must be paid at a future time (at maturity) for funds (principal) at the present time, and discount calculations, which calculate how much interest must be deducted at the present time to evaluate funds at a future time. An interest calculation method in which interest is carried over to the principal only once at maturity is called the simple interest method, and an interest calculation method in which interest is carried over to the principal once every unit period (maturity/unit period) is called the compound interest method.
