...The original work is the rakugo story "Shibahama." The first dramatization was performed in February 1903 at the Tokyo Ichimuraza Theater, by the Shinpa actors Ii Yoho and Kawai Takeo, entitled "Earn Money and Get It." Then, in February 1922, the Ichimuraza Theater staged a performance by the 6th generation Onoe Kikugorou, based on an adaptation by the 2nd generation Takeshiba Kinsaku.
