...A general term for diseases in which a lumen-containing mass appears in the pancreas. From a pathological standpoint, they are divided into true cysts, whose inner walls are covered with epithelium, and pseudocysts, whose inner walls are devoid of epithelium. True cysts include congenital cysts, tumor cysts, retention cysts caused by obstruction of the pancreatic duct due to pancreatic lithiasis or inflammation, and parasitic cysts.
