Gazri natural gas field

...The highest point is Mount Aktau (922m) in the Tamdytau mountain range, which rises like a peneplain in the Kyzylkum Desert. The Turan lowlands are known to have oil and natural gas reserves, and a gas pipeline runs from the Gazli natural gas field (about 100km northwest of Bukhara), where mining has already begun, to Moscow. The vegetation is poor, but in the surrounding areas there are farms mainly for raising sheep, camels, and horses, as well as farmland mainly for irrigated agriculture.
