?-716 Asuka - A retired emperor of the Nara period.
Father of Emperor Kōnin. Died in the second year of Reiki. After his death, he was given the honorific title of Emperor in the first year of Hōki (770). His grave is in Tahara no Nishi no Misasagi (Nara City). His other name is Emperor Tahara. ⇒ Prince Shikino
