Revolutionary Artists Association

...Their objectivism, such as that of C. Grossberg, who entangled animals and women's bodies in giant machines, A. Räderscheidt, who detachedly depicted the alienated male-female relationship in which women were superior, C. Schad, who concealed decadence in that relationship, G. Wunderwald, who depicted the streets and signs of big cities without people, and F. Radziwill, who contrasted overwhelming landscapes with airplanes and giant ships with indifferent human figures, has elements similar to the American scene painting of the 1920s and the surrealist painting of Paris on the one hand. In contrast to this New Objectivism, which focused on ordinary everyday life, the left wing formed the Association of Revolutionary Sculptors (commonly known as ASSO) in 1928, and H. Grundig and others aimed for socialist realism and developed realist paintings depicting typical workers and criticizing the times. In addition to photography and literature, which will be discussed later, it is also said about music, such as the anti-romantic creations of Hindemith and the objectivist performance style of Gieseking.
