A decorative design in arts and architecture in which one or both ends of cardboard are rolled in. In architecture, it is used for decorative frames that bear coats of arms or letters, and also for designs that are surrounded by some kind of irregular frame. It was popular in the interior decoration of Baroque buildings in the 16th and 17th centuries.
