...This is a pilgrimage route that visits the 88 sacred sites associated with Kobo Daishi (Kukai) scattered across the island of Shikoku in order, and is also called the Shikoku 88 Kobo Daishi Sacred Sites. This is generally called "henro" or "O-Shikoku" and is distinguished from pilgrimages to the Kannon sacred sites.
