A perennial plant of the Ranunculaceae family (APG classification: Ranunculaceae). The stems can reach a height of up to 2 meters, making it magnificent. The roots contain toxic alkaloids. The leaves are circular with 5-7 lobes. They flower in sparse panicles from August to October, and are bluish-purple. It resembles Sanyobushi, but Octorikabuto can be distinguished by the densely hairy flower stalks. It is found in Honshu from the Chubu region northwards, mainly on the Sea of ​​Japan side, and in southwestern Hokkaido.
