Oghuz Khan - Oghuz Khan

…A legend, tale, or heroic epic poem passed down among the Turks, with a character named Oghuz Khan (Oghuz Qaghan) as the protagonist. Among the various extant texts, the most detailed are those included in Rashid al-Din's Jami'-Shih-i (Collection of Histories) from the early 14th century and those written in Middle Turkish using Uighur script (also called Oghuz-Nameh), which is believed to have been written in the same 14th century.
