Also read as "Kozuma." A samurai family in the Chikugo region in the Middle Ages. They are said to be related to the Takagi and Kusano families. According to legend, the family began when Takamune, a descendant of Fujiwara Michitaka, lived in Kamitsuma County, Chikugo as the governor of Chikugo, but the exact date is that in the early Kamakura period, Kamitsuma Iemune was given the position of land steward in Kamitsuma Manor and Setaka Shimo Manor by the shogunate. Like the Kusano family, this was likely due to his meritorious service in not siding with the Taira clan. After that, he played an active role as a vassal of the Kamakura shogunate, but at the time of the overthrow of the shogunate, only the activities of Miyano Kyoshin, a land steward in Kamitsuma Manor, are known, and the activities of his direct descendants are unknown.
