MAC (Middle East War)

The United Nations Security Council established the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) and the Mixed Armistice Commission (MAC), composed of both Arab and Israeli representatives, in August 1949, and at its General Assembly in December 1949, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) was established (Figure 1).
