〘Noun〙 (Named after the fact that it blooms around the time of the Eishiki ③) A horticultural variety of cherry blossom (Kohiganzakura or perhaps). A single-petaled cherry blossom that blooms in October of the lunar calendar. The one at Ryogenji Temple in Yanaka, Tokyo is particularly famous. *Toto Saijiki (1838), October 13th: "There is a cherry tree at Ryogenji Temple in Yanaka, Nichiren sect, that blooms in October.
