King Yongle

… He was the son of King Yang of the country, and his given name was Dandeok. The Gwanggaeto Stele reads, “King Gwanggaeto, peaceful in the country,” and he is also called King Gwanggaeto or King Yeongnak. The king’s achievements are recorded in detail in the inscriptions, and he is said to have pursued a southward advance into the Korean peninsula, oppressing Baekje and Silla for many years, taking the Baekje king’s younger brother and ministers hostage in 396, and fighting against the Wa forces that were behind the two countries and defeating them in 404.
