In particular, the abstract animal face design with a large eyeball, called the Taotie design, had its roots in the very early days of bronze vessels, and gradually developed to become the center of bronze vessel decoration. A type of line design called the cloud and thunder design is a background design that makes the Taotie design and bird and animal design stand out, but in older works it actually forms the body of the Taotie itself.
