...He appeared in 40 Tengu films over the next 30 years. Another hit role was the Umon Torimonochō series, also known as Mutsuri Umon, which began with Umon Ichibankara (1929), and ran for 35 films over 25 years. The man who made these two major series interesting and also created another small series, Narihira Kozō, was Yamanaka Sadao, who moved from Makino Productions to Kanjuro Productions, which was established in 1928, as a scriptwriter.
