Inside micrometer - Uchigawamaikurometer

...Some micrometers have a larger radius on the scale face, or use a vernier to make the graduations 2 μm or 1 μm. Depending on the purpose of use, there are micrometer heads with spherical measuring surfaces, outside micrometers that measure outside dimensions, inside micrometers that measure inside dimensions, tooth thickness micrometers that measure the thickness of gears, and depth micrometers that measure the depth of grooves and holes. Figure 1 shows an outside micrometer, with a threaded spindle on one side of the frame and an anvil attached to the other.
