Uzbek literature

...After the 11th century, it was strongly influenced by Islam and Persia, and reached its heyday in Chagatai literature from the 15th to 17th centuries. Representative Turkic literature of the Soviet period is Uzbek literature and Tajik literature, with the former's Aibek (1904/05-68) and the latter's Aini and Mirzo Tursun-zade (1911-77) famous. Other world-famous novelists include Kazakh writer Auezov and Kyrgyz writer Aitmatov.
