Inotani

This is an old village area in the central-southern part of Toyama City, in central Toyama Prefecture. In 1889 it merged with eight neighboring villages to form Hosoiri Village, and in 2005 it merged with Toyama City, Osawano Town, Oyama Town, Yao Town, Funachu Town, and Yamada Village to form Toyama City. A checkpoint was established in the Edo period as a strategic point on the Hida Kaido border with Etsu. Since the Taisho period, the area has developed into the central area of the Jinzu River valley with the development of power sources along the Jinzu River, the opening of the Takayama Main Line, the connection with the JNR Kamioka Line, and the construction of National Route 41. Nearby are the Niji Falls over the Igaya River, the remains of the basket ferry where the old road crossed the Miya River, and the remains of Igaya Barrier. In addition, the anticline and syncline of Igaya, caused by the folding of the strata, are a national natural monument. 富山県中部，富山市中南部の旧村域。1889年近隣 8村と合体して細入村となり，2005年富山市，大沢野町，大山町，八尾町，婦中町，山田村と合体して富山市となった。飛騨街道の飛越国境の要衝として江戸時代には関所が置かれた。大正期以降の神通川の電源開発，高山本線の開通，国鉄神岡線との接続，国道41号線の整備などにより，神通川河谷地域の中心地区として発展した。付近には猪谷川にかかる常虹の滝，旧街道が宮川を渡る籠渡し跡，猪谷関跡などがある。また，地層の褶曲による猪谷の背斜・向斜は国の天然記念物。
