The trunk grows straight, and large ones can reach a height of 50 m and a diameter at breast height of 5 m. The bark of the trunk is reddish brown or dark brown fibrous and splits vertically into thin strips. It branches densely, and the crown is elliptical-conical, with pointed tips when young, but rounded in older trees. The leaves grow densely in a spiral, sickle-shaped, thick at the base, and the border with the branches is not clear. It is monoecious, and blooms in the spring from March to April. …
