The Tenkajaya Village - The Tenkajaya Village
Kabuki Kyogen. Historical piece. 6 acts. Written by Nakagawa Kamesuke II and Namiki Jyusuke II. Original title: "Great Wish Fulfilled: Tennochayashu." Commonly known as "Tenka-chaya." First performed in December 1781 (Tenmei 1) at the Fujikawa Sango-za Theater (Kado no Shibai) in Osaka. A dramatization of the revenge at Tenka-chaya in Osaka. First performed in Edo in August 1816 (Bunka 13) at the Kiri-za Theater. Later, in 1802 (Tenpo 6) at the Nakamura-za Theater, Otani Tomoemon IV added some ideas to the role of Motoemon. Hayase Genba, a retainer of Ukita, is killed by Higashima Saburoemon. Genba's sons Iori and Genjiro, Iori's wife Somenoi, and Genjiro's wife Hazue set out on a journey to avenge their master, accompanied by Shimobe no Yasuke and his younger brother Motoemon.

歌舞伎狂言。時代物。6幕。2世奈河亀輔・並木十輔の作。原名題《大願成就 殿下茶屋聚》。通称《天下茶屋》。1781年(天明1)12月大坂藤川山吾座(角の芝居)初演。大坂天下茶屋の敵討を脚色したもの。江戸での初演は1816年(文化13)閏8月の桐座。のち35年(天保6)中村座で上演のとき,4世大谷友右衛門が元右衛門の役に工夫を加えた。浮田の家中早瀬玄蕃は,東間三郎右衛門に殺される。玄蕃の子伊織と源次郎,伊織の妻染の井,源次郎の妻葉末は,下部の弥助とその弟の元右衛門を供にして敵討の旅に出る。
