The liberation of communist parties in various countries from the monolithic doctrine of Stalin, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and Comintern (Cominform after World War II) in terms of policy and organization as described above began in the mid-1950s, after the 7th Congress of Comintern in 1935 and the experiences of the Popular Front, the Spanish Civil War, and the Resistance.
