Ieki Miyoji
1911-1976 A film director from the Showa era.
Born September 10, 1911. Joined Shochiku Ofuna Studio in 1940, and made his directorial debut with "Torrent" in 1944. Left the studio in 1950, and attracted attention with his independent production "At the End of the Clouds." In 1957, his film "Half Brothers" won the Grand Prix at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic. Died February 22, 1976, aged 64. Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Tokyo Imperial University. Other works include "Hadaka no Taiyo" and "Only Child."

明治44年9月10日生まれ。昭和15年松竹大船撮影所にはいり,19年「激流」で監督デビュー。25年退社,28年独立プロによる「雲ながるる果てに」で注目される。32年「異母兄弟」がチェコのカルロビ-バリ国際映画祭グランプリを受賞。昭和51年2月22日死去。64歳。東京出身。東京帝大卒。作品はほかに「裸の太陽」「ひとりっ子」など。
