Born on August 2, 1912. After working as a pilot student commissioned by the Ministry of Communications, he joined the aviation department of the Asahi Shimbun Company in 1932. In 1937, he flew a domestically produced aircraft, the "Kamikaze," from Tokyo to London with engineer Tsukagoshi Kenji in over 94 hours (actual flight time 51 hours and 20 minutes), setting a new international record. In 1941, he was conscripted into the army, and died in an accident in Cambodia in December. He was 30 years old. Born in Nagano Prefecture. Graduated from Matsumoto Middle School.
