An island located about 11 kilometers north of Hirado City, Nagasaki Prefecture. It is pronounced "Azuchi Oshima." It belongs to the Hirado Islands and has an area of about 15.19 square kilometers. It is also simply called "Oshima." In the past, it was a port of call for Japanese envoys to the Tang Dynasty. It was a fierce battlefield during the Koan Invasion, and there is a "Senninzuka" (a mourning site for the dead). Rice cultivation is thriving here, and you can see beautiful terraced rice fields.
