…The agreement came into force on June 1, 1964, with a five-year term (First Yaoundé Agreement), but was renewed in July 1969 as the Second Yaoundé Agreement, which expired at the end of January 1975. The agreement between the EEC and African countries was also extended to three East African countries belonging to the Commonwealth of Nations (Arussia Agreement), which came into force in January 1971. The Lomé Agreement, concluded in February 1975, is an advanced successor to these two agreements. …
