...The actors included Ikoma Raiyu (1895-1964), Yamano Ichiro, Furukawa Roppa, Otsuji Shiro (1896-1952), Watanabe Atsushi (1896-1977), Seki Tokio, and Kiyokawa Nijiko, and the writers included Kikuta Kazuo, Omachi Tatsuo, Kijima Kenji, and Yamashita Saburo. The term "Acharaka plays" was born from this, with scripts written overnight. The catchphrase at the time was "Acharaka nonsense," and the best-selling novel by Remarque, "All Quiet on the Western Front," was parodied as "All Quiet on the Eastern Front," and the Kabuki play "Ehon Taikoki" was performed as "Ehen Taikoki" (the reason why kabuki parodies are prominent in the scripts of the time is because they were part of the general public's knowledge, and therefore they became less popular after the war). …

…役者として生駒雷遊（いこまらいゆう）(1895‐1964)，山野一郎，古川緑波(ロッパ)，大辻司郎(1896‐1952)，渡辺篤(1896‐1977)，関時男，清川虹子ら，作家陣に菊田一夫，大町竜夫，貴島研二，山下三郎らが加わった。一夜づけの脚本による，いわゆる〈アチャラカ芝居〉なる言葉はここから生まれた。当時のキャッチフレーズは〈アチャラカ･ナンセンス〉で，レマルクのベストセラー小説《西部戦線異状なし》をもじって《東部戦線異状なし》，歌舞伎の《絵本太功記》は《エヘン太閤記》といった風に茶化して上演した(当時の台本に，歌舞伎のパロディが目だつのは，それが人々の一般教養だったからで，だから，戦後には通用しにくくなる)。…
