A group of observatories that aims to discover, monitor, and track celestial bodies in near-Earth space. It is an abbreviation for International Scientific Optical Network. It is operated by the Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics, which is part of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In addition to Russia, observatories from 10 other countries, including Belarus, Switzerland, and Bolivia, participate in the network. It is known for discovering Comet Ison in 2012.
