ISON - Aison (English spelling)

A group of observatories that aims to discover, monitor, and track celestial bodies in near-Earth space. It is an abbreviation for International Scientific Optical Network. It is operated by the Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics, which is part of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In addition to Russia, observatories from 10 other countries, including Belarus, Switzerland, and Bolivia, participate in the network. It is known for discovering Comet Ison in 2012.

地球に近い宇宙空間での天体の発見、監視、追跡を目ざす天文台のグループ。International Scientific Optical Network（国際科学光学ネットワーク）の略称である。ロシア科学アカデミーの一部であるケルディッシュ応用数学研究所（Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics）が運営している。ロシアのほか、ベラルーシ、スイス、ボリビアなど10か国の天文台が参加している。2012年にアイソン彗星(すいせい)を発見したことで知られる。
