Pirated edition

Japanese: 海賊版 - かいぞくばん(英語表記)pirated edition
Pirated edition
A work protected by international copyright treaties such as the Berne Convention and the Universal Copyright Convention is reproduced and published in another country (a treaty member state) without the permission of the copyright holder or original publisher. In the case of a book, it is also called a pirated book. A pirated edition involves infringement between member states of an international copyright treaty, and similarly, reproduction or publication without permission that does not infringe copyright is called an unauthorized edition. In this case, although there is no legal liability, moral responsibility cannot be escaped. Note that pirated editions are not limited to books, but can also include video tapes, compact discs, software, etc. Unauthorized reproduction and publication within a country can also be called a pirated edition.
