Mahavairocana (English spelling)

…He lived in the Lotus Treasury World and became the head of the Avatamsaka Sutra and the Brahma Net Sutra. In the latter, he was said to manifest countless Buddhas and preach in various ways, and became the model for the Great Buddha of Todaiji Temple. Later, in esoteric Buddhism, Mahavairocana (Mahavairocana), with mahā (large) added, was worshiped as the head of the Mahavairocana Sutra and the origin of all existence. [Sadakata Akira]

There are few examples of sculptures created as standalone objects, but one well-known example is the Great Buddha of Todaiji Temple.
