Its head is narrow, and its upper canine teeth are the longest of any living cat. ...The incisors are small and of little use in eating, but are often used for grooming. The canines, one pair each on the top and bottom, are important weapons for piercing prey, rupturing its spinal cord and blood vessels, and killing it. In the clouded leopard, Neofelis nebulosa , they are long, measuring about three times the diameter of their base. The cheek teeth are not molar-shaped like those of herbivores, but rather one pair on each side is specialized as carnassial teeth.
