…Irish educator and man of letters. Leader of the Easter Rising. Born in Dublin, he is said to have had the ambition from a young age to edit a bilingual newspaper, establish a bilingual school, and start a revolution. In 1895, he joined the Gaelic League at a young age, and after graduating from Royal University, he taught Irish at the Catholic University and at the same time became editor of the Gaelic League's journal (bilingual). He also founded St. Enda's School in 1908, and started bilingual education. …
