Rheia

Japanese: Rheia
Rheia

In Greek mythology, she was the mother of Zeus, Poseidon, and others. She was also called Rhea, and was one of the Titans, the parents of Uranus (heaven) and Gaia (earth). She became the wife of her brother Cronus, and gave birth to the goddesses Hestia, Demeter, and Hera, and the gods Hades and Poseidon. However, Cronus swallowed them one by one, so when she gave birth to her youngest son, Zeus, she deceived her husband and forced him to drink a stone wrapped in burdock, and raised Zeus in secret on the island of Crete.
