The second Rhine originates from a glacier in the Rheinwaldhorn (3,405 m above sea level) in the Adura Mountains, about 40 km southeast of Lake Thoma. The two rivers join near Reichenau (600 m above sea level) to form the Alpine Rhine, which flows north along the border between Switzerland and Liechtenstein or Austria, and empties into Lake Constance, Germany's largest lake. …
