Because forests and wilderness areas were indispensable for agricultural production and rural life, their usage has long been established as rights in every country. They are called rights of common, Allemenderecht, droit usage, etc. In Japan, too, they have been used since the feudal era under names such as iriaiyama, noyama, kazan, masaneyama, sazuyama, and tachiaiyama, and their exclusivity was also recognized.
