Saint John

...A port city in the southern part of New Brunswick, Canada. The urban area population was 129,376 (1992). It is located on the north shore of the Bay of Fundy, and has an ice-free port and port facilities such as grain elevators and lumber storage facilities. It is located near the northwest Atlantic fishing grounds and has a fishing port. Industries such as lumber, paper, tile, and textiles are also found. In 1783, during the American Revolution, Loyalists who were loyal to Britain immigrated from New England and built the foundations of the town, so it is also known as the Loyalist City.
