Semicoke

…A solid made primarily of carbon, produced from coal or petroleum, used as fuel, for reducing iron ore, and for producing carbon materials. Usually, the term coke refers to the product of high-temperature carbonization of coal, while the product of low-temperature carbonization of coal is called semicoke or coalite (carbonization). Semicoke was used as anthracite for household use because it ignites easily and burns easily, but low-temperature carbonization of coal is rarely used today.
