Sengstaken-Blakemore tube (English)

...Transfusions are continued until blood pressure is restored and orthostatic tachycardia is no longer observed. To stop bleeding, hemostatic agents are administered, cold compresses are applied to the upper abdomen, and intragastric cooling with cold water is performed. In the case of esophageal bleeding, a Sengstaken-Blakemore tube is inserted, and for portal hypertension, intravenous injection of pitressine is attempted. In recent years, there has been a tendency to use X-ray angiography followed by injection of an embolic agent and coagulation hemostasis using high-frequency current through an endoscope or laser endoscopy.
