Gallois, EM (English spelling)

...They can be seen as adults or larvae almost all year round, and it is thought that it takes about seven years for them to grow from eggs to adults. This species was first collected in 1915 at Chuzenji in Nikko by French diplomat EM Gallois, but a species of this insect had been discovered in Canada shortly before, and the strange distribution of this primitive insect in both Canada and Japan attracted attention. The Japanese name and the genus name of the species were named after the discoverer.
