Cartas do Japão (English spelling)

…The title of the Japanese translation of the so-called Cartas do Japão, which was published in Evora, Portugal in 1598 and is a collection of letters sent between 1549 and 1580 by Padre and Irman, Jesuits who had traveled to both Japan and China, to their members in India and Europe. The Jesuit name 'Jesus' is a phonetic reading of the modern Chinese transliteration of 'Jesus'.
