Wada-so - Wata no Sho

Japanese:
Wada-so - Wata no Sho
A manor in Yatabe County, Settsu Province. It is also called Hyogo Wada Manor. It is centered around Wadamisaki in Hyogo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. In the 1071 Dajokanfu (Kujo Family Documents), it appears that the family land of Princess Masako was exempt from 5 cho of main land and miscellaneous duties for 5 shouji and 10 kyounin. In 1105, Tachibana Tsuneto donated 30 cho of Ishigane in Uji Village to Fujiwara no Michinaga's great-grandson Munemichi, and these were later inherited by the Kujo family. When the power of the Taira clan extended to Yatabe County, it was seized by neighboring Taira manors, but after the fall of the Taira clan, Kujo Kanezane reorganized the management and tried to eliminate all imports, making it the succession of the entire Kujo family. In the 1204 Kujo Kanezane document, it is stated that the manor, which was the property of Komyoin (Hossho-ji Temple, currently Higashiyama Ward and Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City), was handed over to his daughter, Gishumon-in. The position of lord was divided among his children, and at the end of the 13th century, the eastern one was Kyogoku no Tsubone and the western one was the wife of Fujiwara no Yoshikane. In 1298, the western one became a land steward, but there were constant disputes over matters such as taxes, and the eastern one was in a similar situation, leading to the division of the land into Shimoji. After the Genkō Rebellion, Akamatsu Norisuke invaded the western one and forced his control over the whole area, which led to continued disputes. After the Kakitsu Rebellion, Hyogo Manor, which was the Akamatsu clan's territory, became the Shogun's land, and the western part of this manor was either confused with this or became a land. After the Onin and Bunmei Wars, this manor became unknown.
