Waki [town] - Waki
A town in Kuga County, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Located on the eastern edge of the prefecture, sandwiched between Iwakuni City and Otake City, Hiroshima Prefecture, along the Oze River. A paper mill was built at the end of the Meiji era, and in 1940 an army fuel depot was built on reclaimed land, followed by an oil refinery. After World War II, Mitsui Petrochemical moved into the site of the fuel depot, and the area became an oil refinery. National Route 2 runs through the town. 10.58 km2 . 6,378 people (2010).

山口県玖珂(くが)郡の町。県の東端,岩国市と広島県大竹市にはさまれ,小瀬川に沿う。明治末期に製紙工場ができ,1940年干拓地に陸軍燃料廠(しょう),次いで石油精製所が設けられた。第2次大戦後,燃料廠跡に三井石油化学が進出,石油コンビナート地帯となった。国道2号線が通じる。10.58km2。6378人(2010)。
