[1] (Noun) Buddhist term. Six items that a monk should always have on him. Three robes: Sōgyari (outer robe) , Uttarasō ( upper robe), and Andae (inner robe ) , bowl , strainer , and seat. (Sokubōshō ( 1445-46 )) [2] Abbreviation of “Bukkōbikumotsuzu (Six items of a monk according to the Buddhist system).” ※Gaun Nichigenroku (Record of the Days of the Buddha) – December 16, 1463 (Kanshō 4) “Also, at the Tohokuji Temple, I listened to the Five Teachings, the One Hundred Principles and Answers, the Heart Sutra Commentary, and the Six Items, etc.
