This dense forest occupies the northwestern part of the Ca Mau Peninsula, in the western part of the vast Mekong Delta, at the southern tip of Vietnam. It is a broad swampy area bordered by the Cai Long River to the east and the Trem River to the west, and is only about 2m above sea level. Due to the hot and humid climate, it is covered with tropical dense forest. The surrounding area is gradually being developed, with floating rice areas spreading to the north and rice paddies being planted once a rainy season in the east and south, but this forest is almost uninhabited.
