A tributary of the Rhine that flows from northeastern France to western Germany. Its French name is the Moselle. It originates in the Vosges Mountains, runs through the Lorraine region, forms the border between Luxembourg and Germany, and joins the Rhine at Koblenz. It is 545 km long (344 km navigable).
