A general term for diseases that cause reticular erythema on the skin. It is most likely to occur on the limbs, especially the lower limbs. It is thought to occur when the lumen of the small arteries in the skin narrows, causing the small veins to expand, resulting in impaired blood circulation in the peripheral skin. It is classified into two types: cutis marmorata and livedo racemosa, with a type called reticular cutis in between. Cutis marmorata is commonly called "fire callus" and causes reddish-brown reticular spots resembling marble patterns to appear on areas that have been exposed to the heat of heaters such as stoves, foot warmers, and kotatsu in winter.
