The second largest general real estate company in Japan. In 1937, the real estate division of Mitsubishi Goshi (see Mitsubishi Zaibatsu) became independent, inheriting the red brick office block and Maru Building, which were built on land in Marunouchi (approximately 270,000 ^m2 ) that was transferred in 1890. The largest rental building company based in the Marunouchi area, it expanded into architectural design, regional development, land development, and housing construction during the period of high economic growth. In 1993, the Yokohama Landmark Tower, known for its large-scale development, was completed. In addition, redevelopment of the Marunouchi area began in 1999, including the reconstruction of Maru Building.
