A device that reduces the frequency to an integer fraction. There are several methods, such as synchronizing the divided oscillation of a multivibrator or the like with the input, using a regenerative or feedback frequency divider that combines a frequency multiplier and a heterodyne detector, or using a counter circuit to count and reduce the frequency. In particular, the counter circuit method can be used for pulse signals that arrive irregularly.
