〘noun〙① A samurai family line. Military clan. Also, a general term for the shogunate and shogun family from the Middle Ages onwards, and the general samurai below the rank of shugo, jito, and gokenin who served them. Refers to nobles belonging to the imperial court. Warrior. ※Azuma Kagami - February 25, 1186 (Bun'ichi 2) "Carrying out samurai affairs.
