Haptophyceae - Haptosourui (English spelling)

Japanese: ハプト藻類 - ハプトそうるい（英語表記）Haptophyceae

A class of plant classification established by T. Christensen in 1962 by separating them from the Chrysophyceae (Pyrallidae). The class is characterized by the presence of two equal-length whip-shaped flagella at the front end of the swarming cells, and a flagellum-like appendage called a haptonema between the flagella. It is also called the Prymnesiophyceae. The haptonema is composed of about 4 to 7 microtubules and endoplasmic reticulum, and is thought to be an organelle for attaching to a substrate.

クリステンセンT.Christensenが1962年に黄金色藻綱(ヒカリモ綱)から分離して創設した植物分類系の1綱。遊走細胞が等長の2本のむち型構造の鞭毛を前端にもつこと，さらにそれらの鞭毛の間にハプトネマhaptonema(ハプト鞭毛)と呼ぶ鞭毛様の付属物を1本もつことで特徴づけられる。プリムネシウム綱Prymnesiophyceaeともいう。ハプトネマは4～7本程度の微小管と小胞体で構成され，基物に付着するための細胞器官と考えられる。
